Powder Coating Plant in Nigeria

SEW Surface Coating Pvt. Ltd. designs, manufactures and installs complete powder coating plants for manufacturers in Nigeria. Every plant is built at our own works in Pune, India, then export-packed and shipped to Nigeria, with erection and commissioning support from our engineers.

A powder coating plant applies dry powder to metal parts with an electrostatic gun and then cures it in an oven to form a hard, even finish. We supply the whole line: powder coating booth, powder recovery system, after filter unit, curing oven, conveyor and the pretreatment plant before it. One company is responsible from layout to commissioning.

Powder Coating Plants for Nigeria's Industry

Nigeria is Africa's largest market. Manufacturing is concentrated in Lagos (Ikeja, Apapa, Agbara, Ikorodu) and Ogun State (Ota, Sagamu), with further industry in Kano, Port Harcourt and Onitsha–Nnewi.

In Nigeria, demand for powder coating plants comes mainly from oil and gas equipment makers, steel structure fabricators and furniture and storage makers. Powder coating gives a thick, durable coat in a single pass, contains no solvents, and overspray powder can be recovered and reused. That is why it has become the preferred finish for sheet metal, fabrications and aluminium sections.

Steel, roofing, furniture, oil and gas equipment, electrical and automotive makers are expanding local fabrication and coating.

Powder coating booths

Types of Powder Coating Booths We Supply in Nigeria

The booth is a fabricated MS or SS enclosure where powder is sprayed onto the article with an electrostatic gun. Overspray powder is drawn into a recovery system (mono-cyclone or multi-cyclone) so it can be reused.

Single operator powder coating booth with cyclone recovery for Nigeria

Single Operator Booth

One operator sprays from the open face of the booth. It is compact, economical and easy to run, and works with both batch ovens and conveyorised lines.

Best for: Job coaters, fabricators and small to medium production.

Back to back powder coating booth with twin cyclones

Back-to-Back Operator Booth

Two operators work from opposite sides of a conveyorised booth, coating both faces of the article in one pass for higher output.

Best for: Conveyorised lines handling panels, frames and larger sheet-metal parts.

Automatic powder coating booth with reciprocating guns

Automated Booth

Automatic guns coat the article as it moves through the booth on the conveyor, with manual touch-up where needed. Coating thickness is consistent from part to part.

Best for: High-volume auto component, appliance and enclosure production.

Powder curing ovens

Powder Curing Ovens for the Complete Line

The curing oven is an enclosed, insulated chamber with air-circulating blowers and a heating system. Circulated air spreads an even temperature across the chamber so the powder melts, flows and cures properly.

Batch type powder curing oven with trolley

Batch Type Oven

Coated articles are loaded on a trolley and pushed inside. After the baking schedule, the doors are opened and the trolley is taken out.

Best for: Mixed jobs, large fabrications and lower volumes.

Conveyorised conventional powder curing oven

Conveyorised Conventional Oven

The conveyor carries articles through the insulated chamber for a set time, so parts come out cured continuously.

Best for: Continuous production linked to the booth and pretreatment.

Conveyorised camel back powder curing oven

Conveyorised Camel Back Oven

It works like a conventional conveyorised oven, but the entry and exit are raised so hot air stays inside, reducing heat loss and fuel consumption.

Best for: Lines where running cost and fuel saving are the priority.

Process

How a Complete Powder Coating Plant Works

A typical conveyorised plant follows the sequence below. Batch plants follow the same steps, with parts moved between stations by trolley or transporter.

  1. LoadingParts are hung on the conveyor or loaded in jigs.
  2. PretreatmentDip or spray degreasing, de-rusting and phosphating.
  3. Water Drying OvenRemoves all moisture before coating.
  4. Powder Coating BoothElectrostatic guns apply powder evenly.
  5. Powder RecoveryCyclone recovers overspray for reuse.
  6. After Filter UnitFilters fine powder before air is exhausted.
  7. Curing OvenPowder melts and cures at the set schedule.
  8. Cooling & UnloadingParts cool and are inspected and packed.

Stages are configured to your component, base metal, powder type and production rate.

Complete line

Equipment Supplied With the Powder Coating Plant

After filter unit for powder booth exhaust

After Filter Unit (AFU)

Filters out the fine powder particles (5 microns or less) that pass the cyclone, as required by Pollution Control Board norms, so clean air is exhausted.

Dip pretreatment plant with process tanks

Pretreatment Plant

Dip or spray pretreatment cleans and phosphates the metal surface so the coating adheres well and resists corrosion.

Water drying oven after pretreatment

Water Drying Oven

Dries parts completely after the final rinse, since moisture left on the surface spoils the finish.

Pressurization zone around coating booth

Pressurization Zone

Fresh air filtered in two or three stages is delivered around the booth to keep dust off the components.

PLC controlled transporter system over dip tanks

Conveyor & Transporter

An overhead conveyor links pretreatment, drying, booth and oven. A PLC-controlled transporter is available for dip pretreatment.

FAQ

Powder Coating Plant in Nigeria – Frequently Asked Questions

Do you export powder coating plants to Nigeria?

Yes. SEW Surface Coating Pvt. Ltd. manufactures powder coating plants at its factory in Pune, India, and exports them to customers in Nigeria, with erection and commissioning support from our engineers.

What equipment is included in a complete powder coating plant?

A complete plant usually includes a pretreatment plant, water drying oven, powder coating booth with cyclone recovery, after filter unit, powder curing oven and a conveyor or transporter system. A pressurization zone can be added for dust-free coating.

Which powder coating booth is right for my production?

A single operator booth suits job work and small to medium output. A back-to-back booth suits conveyorised lines coating both sides of larger parts, and an automated booth suits high-volume production where consistent thickness matters.

What is the difference between a batch oven and a conveyorised oven?

In a batch oven, coated parts are loaded on a trolley and baked for a set time with the doors closed. In a conveyorised oven, parts travel continuously through the chamber on the conveyor. A camel back oven is a conveyorised oven with raised entry and exit to reduce heat loss.

Why is an after filter unit needed?

Pollution Control Board norms do not permit powder to be exhausted directly to atmosphere from the cyclone. The after filter unit arrests the fine powder particles that pass the cyclone, so only clean air is released.

How is the plant shipped to Nigeria?

The plant is fabricated at our Pune works, export-packed and shipped from Nhava Sheva (JNPT) port near Mumbai to Lagos (Apapa / Tin Can Island). Our engineers can travel to supervise erection and commissioning.
